Town Clerk Food Collection for April 2017

Dear City of Derby Colleagues and Friends,
Thank you very much! With your help, we delivered over 200 cans of fruit and 15 other food items to the St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank today. If you still have any Canned Fruit please drop it off at City Hall or directly to St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank, 237 Roosevelt Drive, Derby, CT – 203.734.7577.
April is here! Spring is in the air, baseball season has started, flowers are blooming, and allergies are in full force.
This month we will be collecting Paper Towels or Tissues for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank.
Please consider donating some paper towels or Tissues and bring them to the Town / City Clerk’s Office by the end of April and we will deliver them.
I have attached a flyer, as requested, for your convenience.

Derby City Hall Regular Office Hours
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday – 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday – 8:30 am to 6:00 pm
Friday – 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
For those who may be new to our distribution list, the Derby City Hall staff, in lieu of a Holiday Secret Santa Gift, donated food to the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in December, 2015.
After discussions with the operators of the Food Bank, we asked them for monthly suggestions for food collections to concentrate on what is in short supply. We decided that we would start a monthly collection of one specific item to help them feed those in need in our City and the Valley.
Here is what we have collected so far:

February - Pancake Mix & Syrup
March – Canned Fruit
April – Paper Towels or Tissues

February - Mayonnaise
March - Beef Stew
April - Baked Beans
May - Pancake Mix & Syrup
June - Canned & Boxed Potatoes
July - Hamburger, Tuna, and Chicken Helper
August - Macaroni and Cheese
September - Ready to Eat Soup
October - Tomato Sauce
November - Jelly and Marshmallow Cream
December - Coffee and Tea
