I am pleased to announce that Derby has been awarded another grant in support of our efforts to restore the city's downtown to a vibrant hub of economic and community activity. Here’s a link to Governor Malloy’s announcement of the grant award. http://portal.ct.gov/…/Gov-Malloy-Announces-13-6-Million-in…
This latest award of $200,000 will aid in conducting environmental assessments in Derby’s downtown redevelopment zone, a necessary step to pave the way for construction of the street grid for which the city previously received a $5 million grant. These combined activities are vital to facilitating private investment in the site.
It is an honor to have been chosen as only 14 municipalities in the state received awards in this round of grant funding aimed at revitalizing Connecticut’s cities and towns. This award speaks to the strength of Derby’s plan and the positive momentum of our efforts.
