Derby’s $3 million road repaving project is set to begin the week of September 25th.
The City Engineer and Chief of Staff met with the contractor to establish a project outline, timeline, and schedule.
The project was broken down into three areas.
Area 1 consists of streets in the downtown area and west side of the city. It includes the following streets:
Fifth Street, Anson Street, Cherry Street, North Avenue, Summit Street, Coppola Terrace, Torrance Avenue,
Valley View Road, Fairview Terrace, Lewis Street, Maple Avenue, Mohawk Avenue, Spring Street,
Summer Street, and Ferrara Court.
Area 2 consists of the following streets: John Street, General Wooster Drive, David Humphrey Road, Sentinel Hill,
Danielle Court, Ashwood Terrace, Burtville Avenue, Elm Street, Cedar Street, Clarke Avenue, and High Street.
Area 3 consists of the following streets: E-Street, Chatfield Street, Cullens Hill Road, Joyce Avenue, Donna Avenue,
Patty Ann Terrace, and Buckingham Road.
It is expected that the work will be grouped, meaning streets near one another within an area will be worked on either
on the same or near days.
David Humphrey Road has extensive catch basin work which is needed and will likely take the longest time to complete.
You will be notified with a Code Red general alert by the Mayor as the work progresses.
The work will take place Mondays through Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
