The mission of the Derby Fire Marshal’s Office is to promote fire safety in all occupancies in the City of Derby for the safety of all of its citizens and visitors to the city. The Fire Marshal’s Office is responsible for the enforcement of code, standards, and regulations, and to bring building within the City of Derby into compliance with such codes and standards, as found in Chapter 541 of the Connecticut General Statutes and the Charter and Ordnances of the City of Derby. Investigate all fires for origin and cause, to help reduce the harm associated with fires and explosions, and to help prosecute crimes of arson.
