Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and fellow citizens of Derby,

I stand before you today with gratitude and humility, honored to be your mayor once again. Winning this election with 64% of your support is not just a victory for me; it is a testament to the collective effort of our community. Thank you for your trust and confidence in my leadership.

 Two years ago, I stood in this very room, making a promise to you all: to do my best for the citizens of Derby. I had no idea how significant that commitment would be. Upon taking office, we faced a daunting challenge—a $2.5 million deficit. It was a tough situation, but together, as a dedicated team, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.

Today, I can proudly say that we have made significant strides, but there is still much more to do. The overwhelming support for our work up until now and our capital plan to invest in our infrastructure is a clear message from you, the voters. It is a message that we will listen to as we move forward.

 In this new term, our focus will be clear:

Economic Development: We will continue our efforts to bring new business to Derby and to revitalize Main Street, making it the cornerstone of our community once again. A thriving Main Street means a thriving Derby.

 Public Safety: We will ensure that our fire, ambulance, and police departments have the equipment necessary to protect and serve our community effectively.

 Infrastructure: We will prioritize the repair and maintenance of our roads, ensuring they are safe and well-paved for all who travel them. Additionally, our public buildings will be equipped with functioning equipment, serving as reliable resources for our citizens.

 Over the past two years, we have accomplished so much together, and I am excited about what we can achieve in the next two years. However, I recognize that this is not the work of one person: it’s a collective effort. Every resident of Derby plays a vital role in shaping our future, and I am grateful to have you by my side.

 Thank you for your continued support and for allowing me the privilege to lead these efforts. Together, let's build a brighter future for Derby. I look forward to serving you all.
