The City of Derby maintains a street sweeping program to keep city streets clean and reduce the amount of sand and other debris entering local waterways.
Although the street sweeper does not maintain a set schedule, it will generally operate Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Street sweeping is expected to take place during the months of April and May.
Derby Public Works will make every effort to post street sweeping notices in advance, but operations are subject to weather conditions. In the event a street sweeping notice is posted in your neighborhood, the City is asking for cooperation by moving parked vehicles off the street. This will ensure maintenance vehicles have adequate access to curbs.
