Yard waste including grass, leaves, and brush is  not  eligible for weekly curbside pickup.  However, Derby Public Works offers other disposal options for Derby residents.  

Leaves & Brush

Derby Public Works conducts a special curbside leaf pickup, by appointment only.  Please email derbydispatch@derbyct.gov to request an appointment.  

• Leaves  only  must be placed in biodegradable paper bags.  
• Brush must be cut into 4 to 5 foot lengths, bound (if possible), and placed neatly at the curb out of the flow of traffic.  

Grass

Grass will  not  be picked up by the City’s trash vendor or Derby Public Works.  However, residents can bring grass clippings to the  Derby Transfer Station  for disposal.
